Ms. Y.S. Sharmila, the President of the YSR Telangana Party, called upon all opposition parties like the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC)  to unite against the Telangana Government.

A day after her detention, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila proposed for a unity of opposition parties against the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS.)  Notably, on the 31st of March, Friday, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila was detained amid her attempts to lay siege the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Office in Telangana.  Ms. Y.S. Sharmila and YSRTP leaders staged a protest against the recent TSPSC Paper Leak matter, demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter.

She personally reached out to BJP State President Mr. Bandi Sanjay and Telangana Congress Chief Mr. A. Revanth Reddy to prepare a joint action plan.  She asked the two opposition leaders to lay siege to Pragathi Bhavan and address the unemployment problem in Telangana.  Ms. Y.S. Sharmila emphasized that opposition unity is crucial to end the family rule in Telangana.

In response to Sharmila’s invitation, Bandi Sanjay promptly assured her that they would work together to prepare a joint action plan.  However, there has been no response from Revanth Reddy so far.

Sharmila’s call for opposition unity against the Telangana government reflects the growing concern over the state of unemployment in the region.
