Ms. Y.S. Sharmila, the President of the YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) continued her hunger strike in Telangana’s Hyderabad for a second consecutive day.
On the 10th of December, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila continued the strike against the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) now known as the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party. She raised her voice against the misrule of the K. Chandrashekar Rao led Government and protested against unemployment in the State.
Although the Hyderabad police denied permission for the protest at the Lotus Pond, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila continued it. The police had cordoned the Lotus Pond area and the YSRTP office. Furthermore, they are preventing the party workers from entering the region and office.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, approximately 40 YSRTP workers have been arrested by the Hyderabad police. There is a curfew like situation in Jubilee Hills and Lotus Pond area.
