The Ramagagundam police, on the 19th of March, arrested the 6th accused in the advocate couple murder case.

Identified as Advocate Gattu Vamana Rao and his wife Gattu Nagamani,the advocate couple were murdered in broad daylight on the 17th of February. They were stabbed to death, while coming back from a local court in Manthani and on their way to Hyderabad. The incident was reported in Telangana’s Peddapalli district.

According to the sources, the 6th accused identified as Vasantha Rao, was also involved and helped the prime accused in the murder. He allegedly extended support to the prime accused. The two main accused in the murder case are Kunta Srinivas a local Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader and Akkapaka Kumar.

The other three accused are Lachaiah, who passed the information of the couple, Chiranjeevi and Bittu Srinivas who helped Mr. Akkapaka and Mr. Kunta.

The prime accused were arrested on the 18th of February, after a court hearing in the advocate couple murder case. The father of Mr. Vamana Rao in his First Information Report (FIR) alleged Kunta Srinivas, Akkapaka Kumar and Veldi Vasantha Rao to be the main suspects in the murder. While two of them are already under police custody, the Police nabbed the third prime accused Veldi Vasantha Rao.

Y. Nagi Reddy, the Inspector General of North Zone Police is investigating the matter.

The Police are likely to take the 6th accused into custody for further questioning and investigation.

Meanwhile, the next hearing regarding the case is scheduled to be held on the 7th of April.
