The scheduled visit of Mr. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, to Khammam district, Telangana, has been postponed.

On the 14th of June, the Government of India confirmed the postponement of Mr. Amit Shah’s Telangana tour.  The decision has been taken due to the need to assess the situation following Cyclone Biparjoy.   It has been reported that the Bharatiya Janata Party cadres have halted preparations for the planned meeting in Khammam.

The BJP had anticipated Amit Shah’s address at a large-scale public meeting in Khammam on the 15th of June, aimed at invigorating party leaders and workers.  The visit was expected to infuse renewed enthusiasm among party members amidst recent setbacks such as the defeat in the Karnataka elections, political developments in Telangana, and the ongoing confusion surrounding changes in the party committees.

However, the sudden cancellation of Amit Shah’s visit has left BJP cadres disheartened. The party had anticipated the visit to serve as a morale boost, but the unforeseen circumstances arising from Cyclone Biparjoy have necessitated a review of the situation.
