On the night of the 8th of October, two persons washed away in the drainages after heavy rains in Vanasthalipuram.

The Vanasthalipuram region of Hyderabad is witnessing heavy rainfall since the past 24 hours, which resulted in the death of two people.

Mr. K. Purushottam, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Vanasthalipuram said, “Two persons have been washed away after drainages overflowed due to heavy rains. The rescue team is searching for them.”

Heavy rainfall lashed many parts of Hyderabad city. Roads and the low lying areas are inundated with water. Due to the heavy rainfall, drainage (nalas) in Vanasthalipuram and Kukatpally have overflowed due to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of heavy to moderate rainfall in Hyderabad, Telangana.

On the 8th of October, the Hyderabad Weather Department and the IMD alerted the State Government for heavy to moderate rainfall in the low lying regions of Telangana and Hyderabad.

This is the second time in the past week that the IMD issued a rain alert for the State. Recently, due to cyclone Gulab, normal life has come to a halt, now once again, with another rain alert, the City people are expected to witness huge downpour for the next three days.

Commuters travelling on a regular basis are going to have a tough time through roads which is expected to witness water.

On the 8th of October, the IMD issued rain alert Aand said, “Light to moderate rainfall is predicted in Telangana for the next three days due to the winds from North and Northeast direction towards Telangana.”

In addition, the Hyderabad Weather Centre also predicted rainfall for the next three days.
