The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is set to launch 50 electric AC buses on the Vijayawada route.

The operations of these buses would be a major boost to the TSRTC as these electric buses would provide environment friendly, high tech facilities for commuters.  The buses would also have mobile charging points, redid lights and a panic button for safety.

On the 17th of April, Tuesday, Mr. V.C. Sajjanar, the TSRTC Managing Director (MD,) did an inspection and advised the officials not to compromise on the facilities.  During the inspection, Mr. V.C. Sajjanar said the buses would be available to passengers as soon as possible.

Furthermore, the electric AC buses have a capacity of 41 seats and can travel 325 kilometers on a single charge.  These buses are also equipped with a vehicle tracking system and three CCTV cameras have been installed.  In addition, a Fire Detection Suppression System (FDSS,) a reverse parking assistance camera and other technology facilities have been installed in the buses.  The TSRTC MD expressed hope that the electric buses would be well received by citizens due to their environment friendly nature and high tech features.

Although an official date of inauguration of these electric buses are awaited, the buses are expected to launch next month.
