On the 19th of October, Mr. V.C. Sajjanar, the Managing Director (MD) of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) shared the revenue numbers of the government run transport company. It is to be noted, on the 18th of October, Monday, the TSRTC collected the highest single day revenue of Rs. 14.79 crores.

Mr. V.C.Sajjanar said, “The RTC buses which include the special buses deployed for Dasara travelled for about 36.30 kilometres in a single day.” He extended gratitude to the public, who used the special buses, which started operating, especially for Dussehra.

The TSRTC decided to start special bus operations during Dussehra and deployed 4,045 additional buses for the same. Of the total 4,045 buses, 3,085 buses were travelling within Telangana, from one district to another, whereas the remaining 950 buses were traveling to Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The highest revenue was a huge matter for the TSRTC as it was suffering losses since the last few months, due to the ongoing Wuhan virus pandemic. After the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government appointed Mr. V.C. Sajjanar as the new MD of the TSRTC, this is the first major change with the highest revenue. A major reason behind the highest revenue could be the rise in fuel prices, which is why people are left with no option but to use public transport. In Hyderabad, petrol and diesel prices crossed the Rs. 100 mark.

Meanwhile, recently, the new MD of the TSRTC recently visited bus stands and stations and inspected the conditions of the buses and their functioning. Mr. V.C. Sajjanar also said that he would work to bring back the revenue of the TSRTC on track, like it was before the Wuhan virus, also known as COVID-19 era.

Stay tuned for further updates.
