On the 12th of October, the Telangana Government is going to Inaugurate a mega vaccination centre in Khajaguda region of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC.)

The drive is being launched by the Telangana Department of Health and Family Welfare (DPHW) in collaboration with Care India. The inauguration event was held at 9:30 A.M., at the Khajaguda Sports Complex. Mr. Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana, launched the centre.

The new vaccination centre would be an addition to the existing Wuhan virus also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination centre in the GHMC limit. Launched today, the vaccination at the centre would begin from 7:00 A.M., and would continue till 11:00 P.M., everyday.

Recently, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) launched a mega vaccination drive, aiming to vaccinate approximately 3 crore people of Telangana. In the past 2 weeks, Telangana Health Department administered a single dose of COVID-19 vaccine to nearly 2 crore people, taking the total vaccinated people to 2.8 crores.

In addition, with the constant falling number of COVID-19 single day cases, the situation is under control. However, citing the upcoming festival season like Dussehra, Diwali, Christmas and New Year, Dr. Srinivasa Rao, the Telangana Public Health Director, urged people to be on alert and take the requisite steps.

He said, “The public must keep following mask mandates, physical distancing and hand sanitising. We urge people to keep taking precautions till December.”

Meanwhile, Telangana has a total of 3,932 active cases of the Wuhan virus till date.
