The paddy procurement issue is still a major issue between the political parties in Telangana.  The ruling party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is fighting and playing the blame game in this regard.

The matter now intensified and is going to be raised in the National Capital, New Delhi.  It is to be noted, the TRS is planning to stage a protest in Delhi.  Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana is going to lead the protest in Delhi on the 29th of November.  The decision to conduct a protest was taken to put pressure on the Central Government to procure paddy from the farmers of Telangana.

Recently, the TRS ministers, leaders and cadres conducted a statewide protest at Assembly constituencies against the paddy procurement issue.  It is to be noted, the Central Government assured to acquire 60 lakh metric tonnes, 60 % paddy crop from the farmers. 

In addition, the BJP led Central Government also assured Rs. 1,960 as Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy apart from bearing the expenses of gunny bags, transport and godown storage charges among other expenses. 

Meanwhile, a final decision regarding the protest in Delhi would be taken by Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao during a meeting today, the 16th of November.  The meeting is scheduled to be held at 4:00 P.M., on Tuesday.
