The three accused in the poaching of 4 Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) are in jail, despite being granted bail by the Telangana High Court.

According to sources, the three arrested accused Mr. Ramachandra Bharathi, Mr. K. Nanda Kumar and Mr. Simhayaji Swamyfailed to pay bail bond money worth Rs. 3 lakh each, therefore they were not given bail and are in jail.  Mr. Bharati’s lawyer, Rama Rao urged the court to reduce the bail amount as the accused earned a salary of Rs 20,000 a month.   He also objected the allegatrion of poaching TRS MLAs by offering Rs. 100 crore, when the accused Mr. Ramachandra Bharathi earns only Rs. 20,000 per month. 

As of now, all the three accused, allegedly associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are in the Chanchalguda Jail. 

It is to be noted that the three accused were booked for bribery and criminal conspiracy under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

It is to be noted, the TRS MLA Mr. Pilot Rohit Reddy started a sting operation, and exposed the BJP leaders’ aides trying to poach TRS MLAs by offering them Rs. 100 crores.  Based on Mr. Pilot Rohit Reddy’s complaint, the Telangana Police arrested three people.  

On the 10th of November, Thursday, the police took the three accused, Mr. Ramachandra Bharati from Delhi, Mr. Simhayajulu from Tirupati and Mr. Nanda Kumar, a businessman from Hyderabad into custody, for further investigation.  The interrogation was conducted at the Rajendranagar Police Station, on the 11th of November.    

Meanwhile, Telangana Special Investigation Team (SIT) are investigating the MLA poaching case, and has summoned many senior leaders of the BJP, including Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the BJP in Telangana.
