After the unresolved Paddy procurement issue, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)  is likely to boycott the remaining Winter Parliament Session.

The TRS Members of the Parliament (MPs) said they would not be a part of the Winter session, starting today, the 7th of December.

According to a source, who wished to be anonymous, “TRS will boycott the whole session from today.  They will stage a brief protest at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in the Parliament premises and will formally announce their decision.  The party will be boycotting the session over the issues of paddy procurement in Telangana, suspension of 12 Opposition MPs from Rajya Sabha and other issues pertaining to the state.”

Besides the paddy procurement issue, the TRS also demanded to resolve the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and suspension of MPs issue. Recently, a total of 12 MPs from the opposition parties.  They were suspended from Parliament’s winter session for allegedly creating ruckus on the last day of the monsoon session, held in July.

The decision to boycott the session came after the TRS MP K. Keshava Rao on the 7th of December, moved an adjournment motion in the Rajya Sabha over “discriminatory crop procurement policy of the Central government and non-procurement of crops from Telangana.”  The adjournment motion was moved under rule 267 of the Indian Constitution, which went unnoticed.

The official announcement of the TRS to boycott the Winter Parliament Session is awaited.

Meanwhile, the Winter Assembly Session, which started from the 22nd of November, will continue till the 23rd of December.
