The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is all set to celebrate the 21st Foundation Day of the party, on the 27th of April, Wednesday.  Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief of the TRS would address the party workers and members and is likely to unveil its national agenda for the upcoming elections in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The occasion is also expected to mark the beginning of the poll campaign and efforts to strengthen the TRS for the 2023 State Assembly Polls.

Highlighting the history and the establishment of the TRS, it was founded on the 27th of April, 2001 to seek the formation of an independent Telangana State.  The party under the leadership of KCR, achieved its objective on the 2nd of June 2014 with the bifurcation of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh into two Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Meanwhile, speaking about the day long Foundation Day celebration, the day-long celebrations would be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in the city.  During the event, the party will showcase its strength, the Telangana development model, and achievements of the TRS government in the last seven years.

As per the schedule, the TRS President would kickstart the celebrations by hoisting the party’s flag around 10:30 A.M., followed by delivery of a welcome address and introduction of 11 resolutions including one on national and state political situation. The resolution would be debated and passed in the plenary meeting, which would also seek the people’s support for the continued growth of Telangana based on welfare programmes for all communities.

It is to be noted, the TRS Government has launched more than three dozen-odd welfare schemes in the last seven years.

Furthermore, highlighting developments, Telangana, which saw frequent power cuts, low agriculture production, lack of drinking water, and general sense of desperation among the people before the statehood is said to have made rapid strides in the last seven years.

Lastly, in today’s grand event, the party is likely to make announcements on its foundation day, keeping in mind the polls scheduled next year.

About 3,000 delegates are expected to take part in the celebrations. Ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs,) Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs,) Members of the Legislative Council (MLC,) chairpersons of various Corporations, Zilla Parishad chairpersons, Mayors and Municipal chairpersons and others are invited for the meeting.
