The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) announced to support Margaret Alva, the opposition candidate for the Vice President elections.

On the 5th of August, Friday, the TRS leader Mr. Keshav Rao said, after the decision of the  TRS President Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao decided to support Ms. Margaret Alva against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the vice presidential election Mr. Jagdeep Dhankar.

Notably, Ms. Margaret Alva is likely to meet TRS MPs in Delhi, on the 5th of August evening, in regard to the Presidential elections.

Moreover, Vice President (VP) elections are scheduled on 6th of August, Saturday.

The Vice President elections are scheduled to be held on the 6th of August and the nominations would be filed by the 19th of July.  The Members of the Parliament (MPs) of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha elect the Vice President of India.

Meanwhile, Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu is the current Vice President of India, whose term is set to end on the 10th of August.
