The Wuhan virus cases, also known as the Novel Coronavirus, are continuously reducing in Telangana. In the past 24 hours, the State reported cases numbering below 200.

On Sunday, the 26th of September, Telangana reported 170 new cases with zero death and 259 recoveries. According to sources, of the new cases, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region with 68 new cases. Although the Wuhan virus cases are decreasing in Telangana, the GHMC limit showed no improvement with more than 50 cases regularly.

On the evening of the 26th of September, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated information about the COVID-19 situation in the State. The new cases were confirmed after conducting 34,200 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.61 crores till date.

With this, Telangana now has 6,65,068 positive cases, of which 4,612 are active cases, 6,56,544 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,912 are deceased. The recovery rate of Telangana improved to 98.71% from the previous 98.70 % and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained constant for the past two months at 0.58 %.

However, in the South Indian region, Telangana is the only state with low single day cases of the Wuhan virus. Other states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the COVID-19 situation is risky with a high number of cases and active cases above 5,000.

On the other hand, with the situation under control, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is preparing for the possible third wave of the deadly virus.

In addition, Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao, the Director General of Public Health of Telangana, urged people to follow COVID-19 behavior and visit nearby medical centres if any symptoms of Dengue or COVID-19 are shown.

It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic.
