The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mr. A. Revanth Reddy is once again under house arrest.

On the 30th of December, Mr. A. Revanth Reddy was scheduled to visit farmers of Bhupalpally, but was put under house arrest by the State Police. As per the media sources, the Telangana Police believed that he is going to hold ‘Rachabanda’ protest in Sayampalem village at Bhupalpally district, therefore they house arrested him. Notably, the police denied permission to the TPCC to hold a protest, still the Party called for a protest. Left with no other choice, the Telangana Police house arrested, Congress leaders including President Mr. A. Revanth Reddy.

Responding to the house arrest, Mr. A. Revanth Reddy criticised Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, called it a breach of human rights. He said, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao was scared of the Indian National Congress (INC) and was terrified whenever he tried to go out.

Mr. A. Revanth Reddy said, “What is wrong if we go and meet our friends, relatives and farmers? The chief minister doesn’t care when paddy and chilli farmers are dying out there. But he goes to attend his party leaders’ functions and other ceremonies. But when we go to meet the farmers, what is his problem?”

It is to be noted, in one week this is the second time that Mr. A. Revanth Reddy has been house arrested.
