In Telangana, students from various colleges along with the Backward Class (BC) Association leaders staged a protest, demanding a hike in scholarships. 

On the 26th of August, Friday, the Student’s Association took out protests and marched against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) Government, demanding enhancement of scholarships.  The protest was after the call of Mr. R. Krishnaiah, the National BC Association President and Rajya Sabha member.  The students along with the BC Association leaders marched to the  Tahasildar office in Hyderabad and submitted a representation of their demands to the concerned official.  

Some of the major demands in the representation include the enhancement of scholarships in line with the rising living costs, clearance of pending scholarships to the students and pocket money of Rs. 1,000 for each student.  Furthermore, the students association also asked the K. Chandrashekar Rao led TRS Government to bear all expenses of students pursuing higher education in different courses.
