Samineni Prasad, the son of Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Samineni Udaybhanu, was recently arrested.

On the 29th of July, the Madhapur Police arrested Prasad for allegedly misbehaving with G. Rajagopal Reddy, a traffic inspector, regarding a traffic diversion issue.

According to sources, the incident took place at 9:00 P.M., when a constable, Krishna, tried to stop Prasad’s vehicle as he was regulating the traffic at the Khanamet X road.

Prasad started arguing with Krishna, following which, Inspector G. Rajagopal Reddy intervened and tried to calm Prasad down. Prasad furiously kicked him and assaulted him. He also attacked Krishna.

The Madhapur Police rushed to the spot and arrested Samineni Prasad for his behaviour. They also registered a case against him under Sections 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), Section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and Section 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)

An investigation regarding the case is underway.
