The Telangana State Government confirmed the 6th positive case of the Novel Coronavirus also known as COVID-19, on the 18th of March.

The person who has a travel history from the United Kingdom (U.K.,) was confirmed as the 6th COVID-19 positive and is currently undergoing treatment at  Gandhi Hospital, in Hyderabad.

With this, Etela Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana, urged the Government of India (GoI) to cancel all international flights to India.

Mr. Rajender said, “There is no evidence of community transmission in Hyderabad.  To keep it this way, there is a need to prevent all incoming travelers from foreign countries. We have shared this view with the Union Health Minister.”

Meanwhile, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government deployed forces at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad for thermal screening

While  Gandhi Hospital is designated as the main centre for the Coronavirus treatment, Osmania and other state run hospitals are also directed to attend to suspected cases.

The details of the 6th COVID-19 positive patient are yet to be released.
