On the night of the 23rd of August, the Telangana Medical department released a media bulletin regarding the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases.

According to the Telangana Health Department’s bulletin, the State reported 1,842 new COVID-19 cases, 6 fatalities and 1,825 recoveries. 

Of the total 1,842 new cases, 23 were from Adilabad, 37 from Bhadradri, 373 from areas under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation ( GHMC.)

Other places include 70 from Jagtial, 24 from Jangaon, one from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, 33 from Jogulamba Gadwal, 20 from Kamareddy, 134 from Karimnagar, 77 from Khammam, five from Komaram Bheem Asifabad, 42 from Mahabubnagar, 64 from Mahabubabad, 59 from Mancherial, 13 from Medak, 32 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 12 from Mulugu, 32 from Nagarkurnool, 47 from Nalgonda, four from Narayanpet, 10 from Nirmal, 158 from Nizamabad, 44 from Peddapalli, 13 from Rajanna Sircilla, 109 from Rangareddy, 50 from Sangareddy, 86 from Siddipet, 113 from Suryapet, 11 from Vikarabad, 50 from Wanaparthy, eight from Warangal Rural, 74 from Warangal Urban and 14 from Yadadri Bhongir.

With these updates, Telangana has 1,06,091 positive cases, of which 22,919 are active cases, 82,411 are recovered/discharged cases and 761 deceased. 

Out of the 22,919 patients, 16,482 patients are under home isolation and 6,437  are in institutional care.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Health authorities conducted 36,282 tests till the night of the 18th of August. Of the total tests, COVID-19 results of 895 samples are pending.

So far 9,68,121 samples have been tested for the Novel Coronavirus infection in Telangana. 

With the everyday spike in the Novel Coronavirus cases, the recovery rate in Telangana is now 77.67 % from the previous 77.31%.

In addition, mortality rate is 0.71 % from the previous 0.74%.
