The Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19,) is continuously under check with everyday reports numbering below 500 cases.
On Tuesday evening, the 28th of June, Telangana reported 459 new cases with 0 deaths. The Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana. The new cases were confirmed after conducting 26,126 COVID-19 tests, taking the cumulative total to 3,55,58,326 till date.
With this, Telangana now has 7,99,991 positive cases, of which 4,172 are active cases, 7,91,708 are recovered/discharged cases and 4,111 are deceased.
According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Rangareddy, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (232,) cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Rangareddy (60) and Medchal Malkajgiri with 54 cases.
With the situation under control, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is preparing for the possible fourth wave of the deadly virus.
In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana worsened to 98.96% from the previous 98.99% whereas the active case rate is at 1.7%
