Concerned about the spike in the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19,) the Telangana Health Department, released an official statement.

According to sources, the Health Director of Andhra Pradesh Mr. G. Srinivas Rao said, the situation in the State is currently under control and people need not panic.  However, he suggested that the guidelines issued by the Central Government and the Telangana Government in view of the Wuhan virus, should be followed appropriately.  The Director of Public Health in Telangana addressed the media and said the outbreak had not completely subsided and urged the people to be more vigilant for the next three months. 

Appreciating the efforts of the K. Chandrashekar Rao Government to control the spread of the deadly Wuhan Virus, Mr. G. Srinivas Rao said the virus in the State is under control, but people need to exercise self caution in view of the increasing number of Wuhan virus cases in neighbouring states like Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.  He said, “Apart from Hyderabad, no more than 10 cases have been registered and covid (Wuhan virus) has been in control in the state for the past six weeks.  In some places, the fourth Wave began and we are just recovering from a third wave.”

The Director of Public Health stressed the need for precaution among the public and following guidelines of the Wuhan virus in the State.
