The Telangana Police, on the 29th of November, found a woman’s burnt body in Shamshabad, Hyderabad, Telangana.

The body of the woman, who is yet to be identified, was found in Shamshabad, a few kilometres away from where the Police found Priyanka Reddy’s charred body.

V.C. Sajjanagar, the Cyberabad Commissioner of Police, said, “The body was found in an open area on the outskirts of Shamshabad. It is being moved to a government hospital for autopsy, and a case is being registered.”

The Police did not confirm yet if the woman was murdered or committed suicide.  However, the fact the body was found in the same area where Priyanka Reddy’s body was found, raised several questions.

In less than 24 hours, the two women’s dead bodies were found on the outskirts of Hyderabad, leading to questions about the safety of women and the law and order in the State.

On the 27th of November, Priyanka Reddy, a veterinary doctor, was raped and set on fire alive by four men.  Her charred body was found under the Chatanpally bridge in Shadnagar on the 28th of November. On the 29th of November, the Police arrested the four men and presented them in front of the media on the evening of the 29th of November.

Twitter is flooded with messages demanding justice for Priyanka Reddy.  Politicians, celebrities and others took to Twitter and posted messages containing #RIPPriyanka, #HyderabadHorror, #Nirbhaya and #PriyankaReddy.

The Telangana Police registered both Priyanka Reddy’s and the unidentified woman’s case and launched an investigation for the same.

The investigation is underway.
