The Telangana Drug Disposal Committee destroyed as much as 1,500 kg of marijuana, 1,100 liters of hashish oil and 500 gm MDMA (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine) on the night of the 1st of December, Thursday.
The Drug Disposal Committee, along with the Hyderabad Police destroyed the drugs seized in several drug cases. The Drug Disposal Committee members include Mr. Gajrao Bhupal, the Chairman of the committee, Sneha Mehra, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad and Additional Commissioner of Police Mr. K.Narsing Rao.
Mr. Gajrao Bhupal, the Chairman of the Drug Disposal Committee along with Mr. A.R. Srinivas, the Hyderabad Joint Commissioner, Central Crime Station (CCS) officials and other officials destroyed the psychotropic substances at the Hyderabad Waste Management Enviro Engineer Ltd., (a division of Ramky Enviro Engineers Ltd.,) located on the city outskirts in Dundigal.
Mr. Gajrao Bhupal said, “These destroyed narcotics were pertaining to 45 drug related cases registered in 10 police stations under the Hyderabad City Police limits.”
It is to be noted, in the past few days, the Hyderabad Police have been on alert in terms of drugs related cases and launched a drive to control drug supply and consumption in the Telugu State.
In regard to this, they are conducting drives and raids, on tip off, any kind of drug parties or activities in the State and City. In the past few days, the Hyderabad Police even busted many drug rackets and seized huge amounts of drugs.
