The Telangana Traffic Police, on the 3rd of March, released a statement and said, the State police collected an amount of Rs. 1,85,07,900 crores as fine in the last two months.

Approximately 1,821 people were fined for drink and drive and case were registered against the violators

Nearly 204 drivers were imprisoned, 2 got their license cancelled permanently and many others were banned from driving for a duration of 6 months to a year.

Anil Kumar, the Additional Commissioner of Hyderabad Police said, “The respondent who were convicted for drunken driving and other traffic violations may face difficulties in getting government jobs, passport and visa clearance.  The drive against drunken driving and other violations will continue for the safety of commuters on the road. Hyderabad Traffic Police requests all motorists not to drive a vehicle while drunk.

The Telangana police presented all the 204 violators before Nampally court and the one who were imprisoned were shifted to Chanchalguda jail.
