On the 20th of January, the Telangana Police registered a case against Jagga Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Sangareddy constituency in Telangana. 

Jagga Reddy, a member of the Indian National Congress (INC,) violated the poll code and made  abusive comments against T. Harish Rao, the Finance Minister of Telangana and the MLA of Siddipet. 

Jagga Reddy criticised T. Harish Rao during a campaign for the upcoming Municipal elections in the State. 

According to sources, Jagga Reddy’s comments raised issues between workers of both the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the INC. 

The case was filed after a few TRS workers approached the Sangareddy Rural Police to register a case against Jagga Reddy.

The Telangana Police booked Jagga Reddy under Section 504 and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)
