On the 22nd of October, the LB Nagar Police arrested Sunil Kumar Reddy, the owner of Shine Hospital in Hyderabad.  The arrest was based on a complaint by parents who lost their child in a fire accident at the Hospital.

According to the complaint, on the 21st of October, a fire broke out on the premises of the Hospital, which killed the child.

While many patients died due to the fire, others are undergoing treatment at different private hospitals of Uppal, LB Nagar and other places in Hyderabad.

The hospital authorities also constituted a committee to investigate the incident.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) on the 21st of October, issued a notice to the authorities of Shine Hospital and asked them to submit a report regarding the incident.

The civic body asked the hospital management to submit a copy of the fire NOC, building occupancy certificate, sanction plan, trade license and property tax.

The GHMC further directed the hospital management to submit all the documents within 3 days and also asked them to submit a detailed report regarding the cause of the fire, by the 22nd of October.

According to sources, the construction of the hospital was not as per the required safety norms, which led to the fire.

However, the actual reason behind the fire is yet to be identified.
