The Telangana police department listed out 20,000 job vacancies in the State. 

Amid the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak in the State, the demand for police official deployment increased.

The need to fill the vacant positions came at a time, when the respective state government is ready to administer the COVID-19 vaccine.

The requirements of police personnel would increase to maintain law and order in the State after the launch of the vaccine, which is likely to be in March 2021.

Recently, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government asked all the departments to prepare a list of vacancies.

Acting upon the announcement of the State Government, the Telangana police department handed over the list with as many as 20,000 vacancies. There are 425 sub inspectors, 19,300 police constables and 200 public prosecutors. In addition, there are 368 civil sub inspectors (SI) 29 armed reserve (AR) SIs and 18 in the communication sub inspectors (SIs.)

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, announced 50,000 vacancies in various departments for the upcoming Telangana Job Fair.

After the CM announced to fill up the job vacancies, the State Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar conducted a meeting with the heads of all the departments earlier and directed them to identify the vacancies in their respective departments.

The mega Telangana Job Fair which would provide employment to several youths is set to begin soon.
