The K. Chandrashekar Rao led Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Government in Telangana postponed the inauguration of the Telangana State Secretariat building.

The inauguration which was scheduled on the 17th of February, has been postponed amid the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC.)   The Election Commission of India imposed the MCC ahead of the Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Chairman election, scheduled to be held on the 12th of February.

The decision to postpone the inauguration of the new secretariat was taken by Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, after a meeting with the ECI officials and Ms. A. Santhi Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana.

A fresh date for the inauguration of the Telangana State Secretariat would be announced soon.
