Justice Ujjal Bhuyan took oath as the Chief Justice of Telangana on the 28th of June, Tuesday.

According to sources, Mr. Ujjal Bhuyan’s appointment came after the current Chief Justice of Telangana Mr. Satish Chandra Sharma was appointed as the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court (HC.)

Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, administered the oath of office to Mr. Ujjal Bhuyan, at the Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad.

The swearing-in ceremony was also attended by Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, and other leaders of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government.  Furthermore, the Telangana High Court judges and officials were also present during the oath-taking ceremony.

Furthermore, highlighting the career of Mr. Ujjal Bhuyan, he is the senior-most judge of the Telangana High Court.  Justice Bhuyan was a judge in the Gauhati High Court, where he was appointed in October 2011 and transferred to the Bombay High Court in 2019 November. After two years in the Bombay High Court, he was transferred to the Telangana High Court and assumed the post of judge in Telangana High Court on the 22nd of November 2021.

Meanwhile, in the view of the oath-taking ceremony, the Hyderabad traffic police issued an advisory, stating, that traffic will be diverted or stopped – on a need basis – between Monappa Island to the VV Statue junction between 8:00 A.M., to 12:30 P.M.

The arrangements for parking vehicles include, from Gate No-III to Administrative Block for Judges.  For the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs,) the Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs), and the Members of Parliament (MPs) parking would be at Dilkusha Guest House, for media vehicles, it would be at the MMTS Parking lot and for other VIP vehicles, government vehicles and Metro Residency, parking would be to NASR School – single line parking.
