The Telangana High Court directed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government to prohibit public gathering on Christmas and New Year’s.

On the 23rd of December, Thursday, the Telangana HC bench led by Chief Justice Mr. Satish Chandra Sharma, reviewed a batch of public interest litigation (PIL) seeking restrictions on the Wuhan virus and Omicron situation. During the court hearing, the HC bench directed the K. Chandrashekar Rao Government to follow the instructions of the Central Government over Omicron spread.

The HC also asked the TRS Government to ensure strict surveillance at the Hyderabad International Airport, ensuring everyone is undergoing necessary tests. Notably, the Telangana Health department is conducting random RT-PCR tests on 2% population, entering Hyderabad from foreign countries.

Meanwhile, as of now, Telangana has reported a total of 38 cases of Omicron, including 14 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
