The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) now known as the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is planning to commence the Rythu Bandhu Scheme, starting on the 28th of December.

In regard to this, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, approved an investment support of Rs. 5,000 per acre to the eligible farmers in the ensuing Rabi (Yasangi) season.  The decision was taken after a recent meeting held on the 18th of December, at Pragati Bhavan, Hyderabad.   The BRS Government is expected to release Rs. 7,500 crores to distribute Rs. 5,000 to approximately 55 lakh farmers in the Telugu State.

Farmers with one acre to ten acre land would be given the benefit of Rs. 5,000, which would be directly deposited into their accounts.  All the eligible farmers of Telangana would get the Rythu Bandhu Scheme money by Makar Sankranti, the 14th of January 2022.

Furthermore, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, during the meeting asked Mr. T. Harish Rao, the Finance Minister of Telangana, to start releasing the crop investment, the Rythu Bandhu funds for the Yasangi harvest season.  The State CM also asked the availability of adequate funds for the scheme, especially after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government led Union Government stopped the release of nearly Rs. 40,000 crore funds to Telangana under various schemes and programmes.

The State Government said, although they are struggling with the finances and are having trouble releasing funds for various schemes, they ensured to release the fund.  To do this, the State Government is making efforts to borrow money from the banks and take loans, to meet expenses to ensure release of scheme money.
