The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government in Telangana, took a decision to turn the Musi River into a tourist attraction.

If sources are to be believed, large scale preparations are underway to transform the City river into a tourist attraction.  The works would be carried out in cooperation with the Pollution Control Board (PCB), the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and the Quli Qutub Shah Urban Development Authority.

The K. Chandrashekar Rao led TRS Government was planning to construct 15 bridges over the Musi River, Telangana.  The proposal of the bridges worth Rs. 390 crores is pending for the final approval.  However, sources revealed that the design of the bridges is in the final phase and the Telangana Government would soon seek tenders for the project.  

Meanwhile, as of now, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, directed the Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited for safeguarding the river from pollution and to beautify it. 

The Hyderabad Metro Water Works and Sewerage Board shall set up 31 sewerage treatment plants (STPs) to keep the Musi River free from pollution.

The bridges to be constructed on Musi river shall reflect the civilization of Telangana state.  However, a final and official announcement regarding the same is awaited.
