Mr. T. Harish Rao, the Telangana Health Minister, on the 11th of April, Monday, confirmed that the State Health Department is going to purchase 200 ‘108’ emergency ambulances.

On the 11th of April, Monday, Mr. T. Harish Rao said the new purchase would replace the old ambulances that had operated for more than 3 lakh kilometers, and are now old for functioning.  The statement of Mr. T. Harish Rao was a response to Ms. Shailaja, the Munipally Member of Parliament (MP.)   She urged the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Minister to replace the old ambulance in her mandal. 

Reacting to the request, Mr. T. Harish Rao said they held a meeting regarding 108 ambulances, and the State Health Department has already ordered 200 new ambulances.  He further said the new ambulances would be operational within the next 45 days.

The 108 Ambulance service was launched by the Telangana Government in 2018, and has helped a number of patients, with basic medical services in the vehicle.  After the success of 108 Ambulances, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Government also launch 108 bike ambulances, especially for patients of villages, who could do easy travel to city for treatment.
