Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, approved the hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for all government employees and pensioners.

According to sources, on the 19th of June, Monday, Mr. T. Harish Rao, the Finance Minister of Telangana, announced a 2.73% increment in the DA.  The new hike would be implemented with immediate effect, on the employees’ basic pay and pension.  The Finance department issued official orders to implement this DA hike, effective from June onwards.  Furthermore, the released DA amount with the increased amount would be calculated from January 2022.  Mr. T. Harish Rao also said, the DA increment came as a part of the ongoing celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Telangana Formation Day.

With this announcement of the DA hike, approximately 7.28 lakh employees and pensioners would benefit, putting an additional Rs. 974.16 crore burden on the BRS Government.  

Meanwhile, the BRS Government released an amount of Rs. 1,380 crores for the disbursement of the DA to all the eligible people and pensioners in Telangana.
