The Telangana Government, on the 28th of December, Tuesday, announced a few ease in restrictions.

Amid night curfew restrictions, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) extended timings for bars, pubs and liquor shops on New Year’s Eve, the 31st of December. 

Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, asked Director, Prohibition and Excise Department to permit license holders of bars, licensees of event permit managements and in house licensees of Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) to serve liquor up to 1:00 A.M., on the intervening night of the 31st of December and the 1st of January. 

Meanwhile, the State Government also allowed liquor shops to sell till 12 midnight of the 31st of December. 

Following the directions of Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Telangana Chief Secretary Mr. Somesh Kumar issued an order to this effect. 

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Telangana reported 7 new cases of Omicron, the new variant of the Wuhan virus (COVID-19,) taking the tally to 62.
