In a proud moment for Telangana, the Telugu State won two national awards in the Health Department.

The awards were announced on the 14th of December, Wednesday, at the National Maternal Health Workshop, conducted by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)

Under the leadership of Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, the State bagged awards for the implementation of midwifery and second prize for High Risk Identification of Pregnancy.  Under the rule of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) now known as the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) led Telangana, the State grew in the Health Department, especially in terms of maternity and child care in government hospitals.

On Wednesday, Union minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar

Presented the award to Dr. S. Padmaja, the Joint Director of the Maternal Health Department of Telangana.

Meanwhile, after receiving the national awards, Mr. T. Harish Rao, the Health Minister of Telangana, expressed happiness.  He shared a tweet which read, “Commendable efforts of CM #KCR garu towards maternal health are recognised across the country again, as Telangana receives special award for implementation of midwifery and Second prize in high risk identification at National Maternal Health Workshop, Delhi. #AarogyaTelangana.”
