Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, expressed disappointment towards the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Government and Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana.

On the 19th of January, Thursday, Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan criticised the BRS Government and expressed strong disapproval of the way the Governor’s office was criticized by the CM and national leaders.  The strong opposition to the behaviour of the BRS Government leaders at a public meeting in Khammam.  

Addressing the media, Ms, Tamilisai Soundararajan said that Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrasekhar Rao had disrespected the office of the Governor.  She emphasized that she was well aware of the protocol accorded to the Governor by state governments and that the government should honour the office of the Governor and not denigrate it.

In addition, Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan also took issue with the State Government not informing her about the Republic Day celebrations.  It is to be noted, on the 26th of January, Republic Day, the State Governor traditionally takes the guard of honour and addresses the gathering at the Raj Bhavan.  She stated that the State Government should first answer why protocols were not being followed and that she would not comment on pending files until the government makes its position clear.
