On the 8th of May, Rachakonda Police caught two men  for having fake police stickers on their car and number plate.

Identified as Bharat Goud and Venkateshwara Rao, they were transporting liquor using police stickers on their car amid the lockdown in the State.  According to the police, the two were posing as police and were roaming through the State crossing toll gates and police check posts.  They were driving a Tata Safari Storme.  After the search, police found two bottles of liquor and fake registration certificate of the vehicle.

The Rachakonda police’s special operations team seized the car and cash found, worth Rs. 14,000. 

The police registered a case against the two under Criminal Breach of Trust Section 405 and  forgery Section 463 to 474 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, announced an extension to the nation wide lockdown.  While the nation wide lockdown is proposed to end on the 17th of May, Telangana’s lockdown would end on the 29th of May.

The decision was taken to curb the spread of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 in the State.  As of the 9th of May, Telangana reported a total of 1,123 cases of the Novel Coronavirus with 29 fatalities.
