On the night of the 26th of August, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated about the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 status.

According to the bulletin, in the past 24 hours, Telangana reported 2,795 new COVID-19 infections and 8 fatalities.

Of the total 2,795 new cases, 31 are from Adilabad, 72 from Bhadradri, 449 from areas under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Commission (GHMC.)

Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries in the last 24 hours are 872, pushing the overall tally to 86,095.

With these updates, Telangana has a total of 1,14,483 positive cases, of which 27,600 are active cases, 86,095 are recovered/discharged and 788 deceased.

Out of the 27, 600 active COVID-19 positive patients, as many as 20,866 patients are under home isolation across the State while 6,734 positive cases are in institutional care.

The Telangana Government for the third consecutive day conducted more than 50,000 COVID-19 tests.

In the past 24 hours, the Telangana medical department conducted a total of 60,386 COVID-19 tests. Of the total, reports of another 1, 075 samples are awaited. Till date, Telangana conducted 11,42,480 tests for the Novel Coronavirus.

In addition, the recovery rate fell to 75.20 % from the previous 76.77 %. The countrywide recovery rate is at 76.28 per cent.
