Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, is scheduled to visit Karimnagar district, Telangana.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) the Telangana CM would take a day’s tour of villages where farmers faced crop damage due to heavy to moderate rains.  The recent heavy rainfall due to a cyclone and hailstorms led to damaged crops of the farmers in regions like Mahabubabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts.

Furthermore, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Government asked the concerned district authorities to make the necessary arrangements for the visit of Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao.

The CMO confirmed the visit and said, during the tour, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao would hold a meeting with the affected farmers and console them.  Officials furthermore said the Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao is likely to announce a relief package for the rain affected ryots. Paddy, cotton, mango and horticulture crops were damaged in many parts of the north Telangana districts. 

The preliminary estimate said nearly Rs. 200 crore worth of crops were damaged in heavy rain, which occurred in the past few days.
