Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, conducted a meeting to review the rain situation in Telangana.

On the 27th of September, Monday, Mr. Chandrashekar Rao reviewed the situation and relief measures to handle the rainfall due to Cyclone Gulab (the flower Rose in Hindi.) The meeting was attended by Mr. Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana, Mr. M. Mahendra Reddy, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana and other top officials of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.) During the meeting, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao directed the Telangana CS to ensure all the necessary precautions against the impact of Cyclone Gulab.

The Telangana Chief Minister also asked the top officials of the Revenue, Police and other departments to work in coordination and to be alert for the next three days. It is to be noted, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Hyderabad Weather Report experts issued a three days rain alert for the State.

Besides the low lying regions of Telangana, the State Capital, Hyderabad is expected to receive heavy rainfall for the next 72 hours. Citizens were asked to stay indoors and avoid venturing out if not urgent.

After the meeting of Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, Mr. Somesh Kumar also conducted a conference with all the district collectors and village officials. He directed them to stay on high alert and be prepared with the rescue operation and relief measures.

During the meeting, Mr. Somesh Kumar also conveyed the message of Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao and asked them to be vigilant and take all the necessary measures to prevent loss of life and property.
