Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 23rd of March, condemned the Bhoiguda Fire accident and announced ex gratia.

According to sources, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President, expressed grief over the demise of 11 workers, who lost lives due to a short circuit in the scrap godown in Bhoiguda, Telangana.  While 11 workers, including migrants from Bihar died, two people were rescued.

Expressing shock, the TRS Government announced Rs. 5 lakh compensation to the families, who lost their kin in the incident.  Furthermore, the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi also condemned the incident and announced Rs. 2 lakh ex gratia to the deceased Bihari workers’  families.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party unit in Telangana asked the TRS to provide Rs. 50 lakh compensation and demanded a high level investigation.

On the other hand, the Telangana Chief Secretary Mr. Somesh Kumar has been directed to ensure the bodies of victims are handed over to the families and move bodies of migrant workers to their hometown, smoothly, after an autopsy.
