The people of Telangana is celebrating the 8th Telangana Formation Day on the 2nd of June, 2021.   The day marks the existence of Telangana as an independent state, when it officially was separated from Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)

On the 2nd of June, 2014, Telangana emerged as a separate State from the united Andhra Pradesh under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act of Parliament in 2014.  Though the Telangana Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in February 2014, it got approval from the President of India on the 1st March 2014.  Later, the Government of India declared the 2nd of June as the Telangana Formation Day.

In 2020, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) celebrated the day as a low key affair, due to the pandemic crisis of the Wuhan virus.  However, this time the TRS Government allowed celebration with limited invitees and a few restrictions.

I wish that with the collective and committed efforts of all the sections of the people and the government the State will soon be transformed as the “Bangaru Telangana.”
