After the Huzurabad Assembly by poll concluded, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) urged the Election Commission (EC) of India to permit the Praja Sangram Yatra.

Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the BJP in Telangana, was scheduled to begin a padayatra named Praja Sangram Yatra in Telangana. However, due to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) amid the elections, the yatra was postponed to the 21st of November. Now, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the schedule of the Member Legislative Council (MLC) election in December. Once again, the MCC is in effect due to which the BJP is restricted to carry out the yatra.

In regard to this, the BJP wrote to the EC and urged them to allow the final phase of the Praja Sangram Yatra in Telangana. On the 10th of November, Mr. Manohar Reddy, the padayatra committee head said the BJP has urged the EC to allow the yatra scheduled between the 21st of November and the 10th of January 2022.

The yatra is said to be an effort to strengthen and establish a strong hold of the BJP in Telangana. After the recently declared Huzurabad Assembly by election results, in which the BJP won, the Party is confident of their strong position.

Launched in a phased manner, the first leg of the Praja Sangram Yatra was launched on the 28th of August 2021 which continued till October 24th.

Scheduled on the 21st of November, the BJP President of Telangana would start the final leg of the planned Praja Sangram Yatra.

Mr. Tarun Chug, the National General Secretary of the BJP said, “Great personalities like Shankaracharya, Mahatma Gandhi have remained in history with their nationwide yatras. The yatra, taken up by Bandi Sanjay is to end the corrupt, autocratic, family rule by CM KCR, will also become historic.” He further said, “The first leg of the yatra gave a shock to the CM and sent a message to people that BJP was the alternative to TRS in Telangana.”

The final phase of the BJP’s Praja Sangram Yatra by Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar is scheduled to begin from the 21st of November.
