On the 18th of September, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President of Telangana Bandi Mr. Sanjay Kumar, visited Bhagyalaxmi temple. 

Along with Mr. Kumar, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Goshamahal, Mr. Raja Singh and other corporators visited the temple.

During the visit, Bandi Sanjay Kumar once again took a dig at the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM.) He said the Asadauddin Owaisi led AIMIM Party did not let the Old City grow and develop.

He also reiterated his stand on renaming Hyderabad City as Bhagyanagar.

Mr. Kumar said, “People of Hyderabad have acknowledged the need to elect the BJP candidates and gave the mandate to the BJP by electing them to 48 seats.”

During his visit, Mr. Kumar offered special rituals to the goddess.

This is the first visit of Mr. Kumar to the Bhagyalaxmi temple after winning 48 seats in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.

The GHMC elections were held on the 1st of December and the results were announced on the 4th of December.

The BJP emerged as the second largest party with the majority of the GHMC seats (48.)

The first largest party with the 56 seats was the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)
