The Karimnagar Court, on the 3rd of January, Monday announced 14 days judicial remand to Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana.

According to sources, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar along with 150 other BJP cadres were detained by the Karimnagar Police, on the night of the 2nd of January. The police registered a case under the Disaster Management Act, for violating the Wuhan virus norms, attacking police and various other sections of the criminal code, against Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

On Monday, he was presented before the Karimnagar Court, which announced remand. In addition, the Court also denied bail to the BJP President Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

Notably, On the 2nd of January, Sunday, the Telangana Police arrested Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who was staging a protest against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Telangana Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao. He held a protest against the recent Government Order (GO) 317, which issued specific guidelines on employees transfer.

Raising voice against the GO 317, BJP unit in Telangana staged “Jaagran Deeksha” in Karimnagar. However, due to permission issues, they were detained by the Karimnagar Police. The police said the protest was carried out without any permission, amid the Wuhan virus (COVID-19) restrictions. Therefore, they arrested the protesting BJP leaders.

Now, after the Court hearing, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar is likely to stay in Karimnagar jail for the next two weeks.
