The name of Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana, also joined the list of political leaders, who accepted the White Challenge.

Given by Mr. A. Revanth Reddy, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC,) the White Challenge is for the opposition leaders to establish a clear image of Telangana from drug culture allegations. On the 18th of September, Mr. Revanth Reddy challenged Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, a leader of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to take a drug test, alleging the TRS Government to be responsible for the drug culture of the State. He also challenged another TRS leader Mr. Konda Vishweshwara to take the White Challenge and undergo a drug test.

Continuing the same, Mr. K. Vishweshwara Reddy tagged the BJP Telangana President Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar for the drug test. Mr. Kumar who is continuing his Padyatra, said, “I am ready to take any white, black, pink, or orange challenge as I have no vices. However, such personal challenges are of no use to the people, especially the poor. Only the rich are into drug consumption.”

Addressing the media, Mr. Sanjay Kumar said, the initiative of the Indian National Congress (INC) leader and reaction of the TRS over the drug issue is just to divert people’s attention. He further added, drug issues only relate to rich ones, who could afford it, whereas issues of poor people in the State are being neglected due to the drug issues chaos in Telangana.

It is to be noted, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar is conducting a state wide padayatra (walkabout to meet constituents.) The padayatra named Praja Sangrama Yatra, was launched on the 28th of August. The yatra is said to be an effort to strengthen and establish a strong hold of the BJP in Telangana and would continue till the 24th of October.

On the 20th of September, the BJP Telangana President completed 24 days of the Praja Sangrama Yatra.
