Mr. J.C. Prabhakar Reddy, the Telugu Desam Party leader and Tadipatri Municipal Corporation Chairman, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED.)

This is the second day that Mr. J.C. Prabhakar Reddy has appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over the alleged sale of scrap vehicles.  Mr. J.C. Prabhakar Reddy and his son Mr. Ashmit Reddy are alleged of purchasing scrap vehicles, illegal registration and sale of some of them in violation of several laws.  Furthermore, the actions of purchase and sale are contrary to the Supreme Court verdict, which prohibits the sale of BS III vehicles post April 1, 2017.

In regard to this, the ED registered a case against JC Travels owned by J.C. Prabhakar Reddy for selling 154 BS-III vehicles purchased under scrap by converting them into BS-IV, and selling them to people illegally.

Moreover, the ED also said that the vehicles were sold to several people by creating fake documents.

On the 7th of October, Mr. J.C. Prabhakar Reddy and his son Mr. J.C. Ashmit Reddy were grilled by the ED for nine hours on the matter.

After being questioned by the ED, Mr. J.C. Prabhakar Reddy addressed the media and said, “Everyone will get an opportunity to prove their innocence before the ED.”   He also expressed confidence to come out clean into the matter.
