On the 2nd of May, T. Harish Rao, the Finance Minister of Telangana, released Godavari water from Ranganayak Sagar to Mallanna Sagar.

The State Finance Minister released Godavari water to Mallanna Sagar tunnel and distribution canals under the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS.)

With this Chinnakodur Mandal of Siddipet district would get water for agriculture purposes.

While Mr.Rao released water to Mallana Sagar by left canal, Bhukya Hari Ram, the Engineer In Chief of  the  KLIS  released water to Mallanna Sagar tunnel to Mallanna Sagar reservoir right canal.

The water was released to the 3 TMC capacity reservoir of Chandapur village in Chinnakodur mandal, from the Surge Pool in Siddipet.

The water released would help to irrigate Urban Mandal (6030 acres,) Rural mandal (1350,) Chinnakodur (27,925,) Nangunoor (25 645,) Narayanpet (10,563) Koheda (4900) and Cheryala (918).
