Mr. T. Harish Rao, the Telangana Finance Minister, on the 25th of October, addressed a public meeting gathered for the Huzurabad Assembly election.

The public meeting was organised to support Mr. Gellu Srinivas, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) candidate representing the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the Huzurabad Assembly by poll. During the public meeting, Mr. T. Harish Rao lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for increasing prices of oil, LPG cylinders, fuel and other commodities.

He said, after the 2nd of November, the BJP is planning to increase LPG cylinder prices by Rs. 200. With this, the price of the LPG cylinders would be available at Rs. 1,250. He said, in the past seven years of the BJP rule, the Central Government has considerably reduced the subsidy provided on a cylinder and raised the cost of a LPG cylinder. Previously, the LPG cylinders were available at a cost of Rs.500, which is now more than Rs.1,000. He said, instead of reducing prices, the ruling Government of India is constantly increasing the prices, now gas cylinders would also be available with a hike of Rs. 200 from the 2nd of November.

Mr. Harish Rao said, “The BJP government at the Centre hiked cooking gas price to Rs. 1,000 from Rs. 500 after abolishing subsidies in the last seven years. Instead of taking steps to reduce the price, the Centre is planning to increase the price further by Rs. 200 on November 2.”

Mr. T. Harish Rao also said the BJP does not care about the development and welfare of the people. In the past few days, the TRS has been focusing on the BJP and their failures to attract voters of the Huzurabad Assembly election. The comments comme as a criticism for the BJP, which is contesting for the upcoming Huzurabad Assembly by poll.
